Concept work on GridCore took two full years. Here are the four early versions that didn’t capture what I wanted:
“Professions” – Sept 2022: confusing to play.
“Dice” – Nov 2023: players weren’t learning the values.
“Self Help” – Apr 2024: felt more like homework than a game.
“Strategy” – Oct 2024: fun elements, but the value theme got lost.
Each miss taught me something. Today’s prototype finally clicks with the six‑value core—call that Milestone #1. More to come! Here are the failed versions:
